About Cyber@Stout

Our Mission

Cyber@Stout is dedicated to fostering a community of cybersecurity enthusiasts at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Our mission is to provide students with opportunities to learn, compete, and grow in the field of cybersecurity through hands-on experiences and collaboration.

Our Story

UW-Stout has had a club dedicated to competing in the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition for several years. We have won state 5 years in a row. Stout also had another cybersecurity club on campus that has since merged with us, allowing us to grow and strengthen our community. We have grown immensley over the years, from a mere 8 people to a thriving group of over 25+ active members and growing.

With the full support of our club advisor Dr. Holly Yuan, we were able to make a bunch of industry connections to help grow the club. Today we have speakers from various companies and organizations willing to share their knowledge and expertise with our members.

We have also since grown the club instead of just competing in CCDC. We now compete in a number of competitions to help our members grow their skills, and spread the joy of competing in cybersecurity competitions to all our members.

Our team consists of passionate students from diverse backgrounds, all united by a common interest in cybersecurity. We are led by experienced officers who are committed to guiding and supporting our members throughout their journey in the club.
